About Us

Mattessich Iron, LLC is owned and operated by Mike and Danielle Mattessich in Central New York. We are certified in New York as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, and have completed projects for a diverse customer base including general contractors, schools, manufacturing facilities, commercial enterprises, industrial plants, and residential interests. Typical projects range in value from $2,000 to $2,000,000 and are fully covered with commercial liability, auto, umbrella, and package insurance coverage. We also offer bonded coverage when required on specific projects.

Upon graduating from Baker High School in Baldwinsville, Mike enrolled in college at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he majored in Geospatial Information Science and Systems Engineering. After graduating in 2003 he was stationed at Fort Benning, GA as a combat engineer with the 3rd Infantry Division, where he honed his longtime hobby of custom motorcycle design and building during his down time. He opened his shop doors shortly after and built a small customer base in and around Columbus, GA. The demands of a military career kept Mike's time restricted, which lead to a relatively small but tight knit customer base. He handled the welding and machining for local motorcycle dealers, kitchen maintenance at restaurants, construction equipment repairs, and service calls to Fort Benning when contractors needed steel. After serving two tours of duty in Iraq and ascending to the rank of Captain, Mike decided to leave the military. In 2008 he moved the business back to his hometown in Baldwinsville and went full time with it, including a 4,000 sq ft fabrication shop, upgraded equipment and vehicles, and a staff of well versed welder/fabricators.

Danielle came aboard in 2013 as operations manager and vice president, bringing a much needed level of planning and organizing to the fast-growing enterprise. She is a graduate of Baker High School in Baldwinsville, and holds a bachelors of science in Environmental Resource Management from the State University of New York Environmental Science and Forestry. Her professional background in environmental contracting has improved the company's efficiency in legal, resource, manpower, and finance matters.

In 2017, we made the long awaited move to our new facility, complete with two floors of newly built offices, stock rooms, break room, and 12 acres of yard space. The shop floor tripled in size from our previous facility, allowing expanded work space and machinery to help us keep up with the ever growing workload. We added a maintenance department, in-house estimators, in-house drafters with 3D capability, and increased our project manager positions to offer a higher level of efficiency, capability, and quality of work for our customers.
